About MSN

Mycotoxicology Society of Nigeria

The Mycotoxicology Society of Nigeria (MSN), is a group of eminent Nigerian Scientists, united by their desire to address the burden of mycotoxin contamination in Nigeria and improve the living conditions of humanity, through sound socio-economic and scientific studies on mycotoxins in food and feedstock With the primary aim of promoting awareness leading to the study and control of mycotoxins in foods and animal feed.

The Mycotoxicology Society of Nigeria (MSN) - formerly Nigeria Mycotoxin Awareness and Study Network (NMASN) is a body of scientists in the academia, industries, regulatory agencies and other stakeholders in the food and feed industry united by the need to create awareness on mycotoxin issues especially in Nigeria

Journals

Mycotoxicology is the official scientific publication of the Mycotoxicology Society of Nigeria (MSN). It is a peer-reviewed scientific journal with specific focus on the promotion of the science of mycotoxins. It covers a diverse, interdisciplinary range of topics that is unique in breadth and depth.The journal contains original research papers, critical reviews in all areas that concern mycotoxins and case reports highlighting important developments in the fields of medical and veterinary mycotoxicology.

The journal takes a multidisciplinary approach and it focuses on issues related to mycotoxins, including toxicology, risk assessment, occurrence, modelling and prediction of toxin formation, genomics, molecular biology for control of mycotoxigenic fungi, pre-and post-harvest prevention and control, sampling, analytical methodology and quality assurance, food technology, economics and regulatory issues...More

Membership is open to specialists in mycology, toxicology, biochemistry, agriculture, microbiology, veterinary and human medicine, food science, chemistry, plant pathology and related disciplines. Our vision

To control mycotoxin contamination in human and animal food and feed chains respectively, reduce the consequences of mycotoxin contamination in man and animals and ensure that the quality of food/feeds meet global recommended limits of mycotoxins.
